I’ve realized lately that I have a very, very bad problem with procrastination. (I’m sure I’m not the only one.) Lucky for me, I just came across these two articles that may help me get organized, get stuff accomplished, and have some serious play/relaxation time.
The first is from lifeclever.com: How to Unschedule your work and enjoy guilt-free play. The concept of the article comes from Neil Fiore’s The Now Habit, where you make a schedule of all the things you want to do rather than the ones you have to do. Then, as you complete focused, uninterrupted work, add that to your schedule and have some well-deserved fun time.
The other article is Minimal ZTD: The Simplest System Possible from zenhabits.net. Here you focus on cultivating habits that get work done immediately and without distraction. They call it “a way to be productive without all the fuss.”
Productivity is good. Fun is better.
