My name is Lindsay. I’m a twenty-something who loves fresh air, Jesus, and all things literary (not necessarily in that order). I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, where I attended college and grad school, became a writer, played a lot of softball, and fell in love with Adam. We got married in June 2005 and moved to southern Alabama, so Adam could help rebuild the Gulf Coast. It was quite a culture shock, and we’re still getting used to it.
Since we’ve lived here, I’ve been a newspaper editor, high school teacher, cocktail waitress, grant writer, editor of a wedding magazine, and involuntary homemaker. Now I copy edit a trade magazine, assist with proofreading at a literary magazine, and teach a class at the local university. Adam has changed careers too. Now he’s a firefighter.
We live in a little house in downtown Mobile with our rambunctious dog, Penny, who can frequently be seen walking us around town and our kitten, Scooter. Currently, we attend a lovely Episcopalian within walking distance of home.
I plan one day to run my own literary magazine, become a nurse or graphic designer, get a Ph.D. in creative writing, teach worldview studies, stay at home with my yet-to-be-born kids, publish lots of poems and essays, plant and harvest all my own fruits and vegetables, and live as a servant of the Lord all my days. When I’m not reading great books, learning to sew, getting lots of exercise (preferably in the sunshine), watching films, or learning about liturgy, I’m trying to learn how to relax and enjoy life. No one said it all had to be done today . . .
Oh, and I’m pregnant with our first child. Check out my baby blog.
